Kahikatea Bay Retreat

The Space

The property consists of separate buildings connected via bush tracks. The main retreat is a kitchen, dining and living room with two day-beds (two single beds as an option). It also has a generous deck space with BBQ and amazing views of the Sounds.

- The other two cabins are spacious bedrooms with private decks and full ensuites with rainfall showers.

- The bedding configuration can be a super king with optional full height trundle bed or three singles.

- The bedroom cabins also contain tea / coffee making facilities and a mini fridge.

Guest access

The entire property will be for your exclusive use during your stay.

Access is via an electronic code door and lock boxes to access keys for the bedroom cabin.

Other things to note

Access is via water only. There is no road access. You will need to organise your own transport to the retreat via a Sounds transfer, water taxi or your own boat. This is easy to do and we can guide you on this once you have booked. (Cost approx. $60 each way per person via a Sounds transfer or if a larger group of people the cost is less)

Be sure to take all your food with you for your stay. Once you are at the property there is nowhere to stock up short of ordering in a grocery order via a water taxi.

It may be a bit tricky to get to the property from the jetty an hour or two either side of high tide, but we will guide you on the best arrival and departure times once you have booked to avoid the high tide. As such we can vary the check in and check out times to suit and you can wait on the jetty overlooking the water for the tide to drop enough to pass should you need to.

There is a climb of approximately 150 steps to get to the cabins. Please see the photos for an idea of the access, all luggage and groceries will need to be carried up these stairs.
